As a very sentimental person myself, I understand the need to keep someone or a pet close, whether they are still with us or not.
I am also interested in symbolism. Someone’s favourite things tell us about them, their spirit, their soul, their beliefs.
The pieces I make can highlight a moment in time or a person’s life journey.
They can be made to honour someone who has passed, to allow you to be with a child who is moving to university or to be close to someone in a long-distance relationship. They can be made to attach to a wedding bouquet for loved ones who can't be with you on your special day or as little pebbles to offer reassurance in the pocket during exams or interviews.
Whatever the reason, that is personal to you and respected by me.
I can include favourite colours, fingerprints, pictures, hair, ash, fur. They can be subtle or glittery, bright or include meaningful items such as sand from a favourite beach, birthstones or zodiac symbols. The possibilities are endless.
Items to be added to the pieces must be small enough or processed in some way. For example, breastmilk and other fluids need to be processed to make it viable for setting. Dried flowers may be too big but could be trimmed or made into flower dust.
Each piece will be designed with you and I guarantee no contamination from other customer orders.
I primarily work with sterling silver but can also work with gold, stainless steel or other materials on request depending on availability. I try to support other small/family run businesses where possible by ordering supplies from them.
Inclusions will be set in resin. I am hoping to start using glass next year, however, this limits the choices of inclusions due to the heat required to form the glass shapes and I like to be able to offer you the opportunity to include things that represent your loved one or situation to truly personalise your piece.
If there are supplier issues, I will keep you informed of any extended wait times or offer you an alternative, similar style of setting.
